Jamie Mitchell Represented the Landlord on 2 New Restaurant and Bar Concepts on Popular East Colfax

Two new projects will spruce up a very plain stretch of East Colfax over the new few months. Tom Secrist, treasurer and secretary of the Bluebird Business Improvement District is leading by example, tearing down and overhauling the structure at 3421 E. Colfax Ave, according to Denverite.

Already planned, a New Mexican bar and restaurant from Jareb Parker dubbed Middleman and Q House, serving new and classic spins on a Chinese menu.

Created by Christopher Lin, Jonathan Pinto and owner Jennifer Mattioni, previously at LeñaCandela Latin Kitchen and Mezcal-Colfax, the project has advanced to the liquor license stage of development. Inside, the concept will feature a six-seat bar, a main dining room and new outdoor patio.

To introduce itself to its Bluebird neighbors, the team released an early preview menu, featuring adventurous Sichuan-tilted dishes, plus fried veal sweetbreads, beef tendon and tripe, and pan-fried turnip cakes. More familiar choices include an orange duck, a spicy hot pot and Dan Dan noodles. Mattioni’s touch can be found in sample cocktails, like a ginger mojito, saketini, and a lemongrass fizz.
